Tips for Summer Home Designing

13 Aug

Summer is a lot of people's favorite season of the year. It is when we go outside a lot and have fun and with warmth and light and life. We often love to bring summer right in our homes by throwing some very pretty colors and patterns for our once-a-year design projects. Now of course, there are several approaches to this, but you need to be aware of the basics.

Here are a few pointers for creating the most amazing summer feels inside your home this year:

Generous Sunlight

Light is the first thing that adds a taste of summer to any home. Sunlight can't be imitated so think of ways to allow more light in. Perhaps get new windows or maybe install skylights if there's adequate space.

Bright Colors

Summer is basically about color and character, and what better method of shouting out your love for this time of year than by throwing a burst of sunny hues into your home! Picture bright yellow, greens, oranges and the like - these are all typically related to summer. Incorporate in some opposite colors and wild prints, of course, and throw those flamingos and pineapples in the mix!

Palm Designs

One of the most  summery elements you can choose for your house this year - and every summer - is palm leaf print. Palm leaves are beautiful, especially how it ads a pretty tropical touch to your interior. They can really make you feel as though you idling time away on some island paradise.  Hang a palm leaf garland as well, maybe bring out the cushions and have some attractive palm leaf fairy lights!

Light and Breezy

To get the ultimate summer taste, be sure that your home remains light and breezy all year round. You can get this result by using all neutral colors on the walls and just adding accessories of one or two bold colors. To make your house feel larger and warmer, you can start by sticking to a clean and simple design.

Watercolor Paintings

Watercolor paintings are a great way to spice up a summer home design. Imagine putting watercolor prints into your home to suit fit the various themes of your rooms. In the kitchen, for example, mix greens and purples or any design that puts the outdoors inside your home.  Watercolor is gorgeously simple and right for the summer, and it can actually be purchased as wallpaper, learn more here!
